Is it possible to control panning width?

Question

I want to have a knob with values from 0 to 6 and take that value and times by a "pan tag" to get the pan value.  Say my samples pan from -16 to 16 my knob value is 0 then all of my samples would be panned to 0, but say the knob was set to 5 then the sample with the pan tag set to 16 would have a pan value of 90.
