Description

This week, I’ve been playing with the Donner L1, a great sounding and fun little synth that is heavily inspired by the Roland SH-101. Released in 1982, the SH-101 is of course a legendary instrument, earning its place in history mostly due to its use in the ’90s electronic scene. Donner sent me this machine, and I’ve been really enjoying it – in fact, I’m hoping to do a video about it in the coming weeks. In the meantime, here are some samples that I’ve made with it.

This library features 18 patches, some of which consist of the raw sounds from the L1, while others were made using outboard effects. I’ve also included a little “patch builder” preset that is essentially an entire subtractive synth built on the raw waveforms that the L1 generates (because of all the bells and whistles, it’s a bit CPU intensive, so be mindful of that).

This sample library works with the free decent sampler plugin. In fact, it can be downloaded directly from within the plugin, assuming you use the same email address for Patreon as you do for Decent Sampler.
