Description
The Soul Bowl is a simple, clean mallet instrument. It focuses on the clear, natural ring of a singing bowl, making it a great “utility” sound for lo-fi, ambient, or cinematic projects where you just need that extra bit of soul. It’s designed to capture the two sides of the sound: the sharp, percussive Strike and the warm, harmonic Bloom that follows.

The interface is kept pretty minimal so you can get the sound you want quickly:
- High Pass Filter: To thin it out if it’s competing with your bass.
- Reverb & Chorus: For adding space and a bit of shimmer. (Space is the Reverb knob)
- Release: To go from a short tap to a long, natural ring.
- Strikes & Blooms: When you tap a key, you get the sharp, immediate Strike. If you hold the key down, the sound opens up into a long, resonant Bloom.
I’ve included additional percussive samples created by striking the bowl and its pillow in different spots. These are indicated by the blue keys to the left.
For more atmospheric sounds, I’ve included recordings of the mallet rubbing against the rim and the bowl rolling across my desk. These provide a constant, “static” texture that stays steady as you play. These are indicated by the blue keys to the right.
- The playable range is A3-A6
- 3 Velocity layers
- 2 Round Robins

Pretty much astonishing and realistic digital rendition of authentic Tibetan bowls! Could be very useful for soundbaths or any meditative soundscapes or compositions
