Description
The Cinemetaic Handpan is a versatile instrument with a wide range of possibilities.
The instrument was created from handpan recordings, capturing a variety of playing
techniques. Some of the samples were further processed through my Eurorack system, resulting in unique textures.
Its presets range from natural handpan performances to ambient soundscapes, evolving textures,
and noise based instruments, showcasing both the organic and more experimental sides of the source material.
The convolution reverbs were created from custom impulse responses recorded from resonant metal fences and other unusual objects, adding a collection of distinctive acoustic spaces that complement the character of the instrument.
Blending acoustic recordings with modular processing, the Cinemetaic Handpan explores the space between traditional performance and experimental sound design.
I even recorded some impulse responses of a fighter jet!
