Description

Farfisa (company) was founded in the year 1946 when three accordion manufactures merged into one after the World War II economical drop. Fabbriche Riunite Fisarmoniche Italiane S.p.A (United Italian Accordion Factorie), aka Farfisa was building on the historical significance of italian accordion music, also becoming the world’s largest supplier.
In the time of combo organs (and especially the legendary VOX ones), they have already partially moved from accordions and released their own span on the electronic organ, a godmother of modern synthesizer, Farfisa Compact Series. As the italian production was also cheaper then the US one, Farfisa could flood the market easily.
Farfisa FK 58 model that we are resampling with Decent Sampler plug-in has not much of a detailed official info to be found. We found it in the piles of the Athens flea market, waiting for its resurrection.
It seems to be one of the late 80’s synth piano models, following ones, such as FK 53. Featuring three octave keyboard, six native sounds, rhythm feature, or sound effects such as vibrato or sustain env.
In the sampler – we drew upon the vibrant, yet very warm native sounds, adding other layers of modulation with knobs you can easily use, such as an AR envelope, cutoff/resonance, chorus, reverb and waveshaping drive.
