Description

The LinnDrum (LM-2) was a drum machine released in 1982 by Linn Electronics. It became one of the most widely used drum machines of the 1980s, appearing on countless pop, rock, and R&B recordings. Its digitally sampled sounds were considered groundbreaking at the time, offering a more realistic alternative to the purely synthesized drum sounds that dominated earlier machines.

This free sample library features classic sounds from the Linn Drum machine. Includes 10 drum sounds: bass drum, rim shot, snare, handclap, four toms, and open/closed hi-hats.

Each drum has independent controls for panning, pitch (±12 semitones), tone filtering, reverb send, and volume. The hi-hats are set up with realistic muting behavior where open and closed hats silence each other.

The samples are mapped to MIDI notes 36-48 for compatibility with standard drum mapping conventions.
